Common photo print sizes and pixel dimensions

Print dimensions and camera aspect ratios do not always match, so a sharp image may still need cropping.

Popular sizes at 300 DPI

Use these as target dimensions before crop, bleed or border adjustments.

  • 4 × 6 in — 1,200 × 1,800 px
  • 5 × 7 in — 1,500 × 2,100 px
  • 8 × 10 in — 2,400 × 3,000 px
  • 11 × 14 in — 3,300 × 4,200 px
  • 12 × 18 in — 3,600 × 5,400 px

Watch the aspect ratio

A typical 3:2 camera image fits 4 × 6 or 12 × 18 without cropping. An 8 × 10 print uses a 4:5 ratio, so part of the long edge must usually be cropped.

Allow for bleed

Commercial print products may require image content beyond the trim line. Add the printer's requested bleed before calculating final export pixels.
